Is the playdough safe for children?

YES! our homemade play dough is organic, safe and toddler friendly. The ingredients are completely non-toxic.

What is the dough made from?

Our homemade playdough is organic, safe and toddler friendly. The main ingredients are flour, cream of tartar, and salt. We currently have 10 colours, and each colour has a natural aroma for the little ones to enjoy.

How to preserve your dough?

It’s important to take proper care of the dough after play time. Knead the dough, put it inside the eco bag provided and seal it tight ( or put it inside the zip lock bag and make sure it's sealed tight.). Properly kept, our dough will last around 3 months, or 4 months if kept in a refrigerator.

How to tell if the dough has expired?
  • If part of your dough starts to harden - try adding water one drop at a time, to moisten the playdough and restore softness.
  • If the dough is completely dry - it’s time to throw it away and order a new batch of dough!

How to clean the playdough kit

  • Giving your playdough kit a good clean every month is a great way to maintain it. There are 2 ways to clean our playdough kit.

Using Dish Soap 

  1. Warm and a little dish soap and a soft sponge should do the trick. Be sure you scrub hard enough to get all the gunk off. (Clean it by hand not dishwasher )
  2. Let it air dry

Using Lime & Salt

  1. Sprinkle the board with salt
  2. Take a lemon and cut it in half
  3. Scrub the salt down each side of the cutting board using the lemon with the fleshy side down
  4. Let the salt and lemon solution sit for approximately five minutes.
  5. Finally, clean off the board with a sponge, rinse, and dry.
What is the ideal age for playdough sets?
  • Children can begin to play with dough at 15 months of age. However, combining playdough with the loose parts poses a few risks, so it's recommended that you wait until your child is two years old before you introduce it.
  • Smaller loose parts, which can go into mouths, should always be used under strict supervision with babies and toddlers.
  • For external use only, if any adverse reaction/ allergies occurs, stop using the product and get medical help
  • Avoid using with people who have extremely sensitive skin

  • You can create a guiding theme if there’s something your child is particularly interested in.
  • With play dough, loose parts, and our constant encouragement, our children can direct their own learning.
  • Both play dough and loose parts are open-ended materials, so they empower children to be creators, inventors.


Is the Sensory Crayon safe for children?
  • For external use only, if any adverse reaction/ allergies occurs, stop using the product and get medical help
  • Avoid using with people who have extremely sensitive skin
  • The crayons have a melting point between 144 to 150 °F (62 to 66 °C).
What is the Sensory Crayon made from?
  • 100% beeswax
  • Colour pigment made from cosmetic grade (safe for young children)
  • 3 g. of pure essential oil per crayon (lemon, lavender, rose, eucalyptus, orange)
How to preserve your Sensory Crayon?
  • The Sensory Crayon is long lasting and durable for 2 years. The scent can last for 3-4 months with a proper care.
  • Keep the crayons in their individual eco-bag. This avoids mixing scents and keeps the crayons smelling fresh.

What is the Plant Journal
  • Plant Journal is included in Little Legend Sensory Crayon set.
  • Use crayons with Little Legend Plant Journal (A4 size) An activity which is sure to keep your kids engaged as they explore the wonderful world of plants. The Plant Journal will help children explore 10 different types of plant, and describe them as they immerse themselves in the natural world. 🍃 The activity also involves exploring different textures of leaf through crayon rubbing.

How to set up Learning Space for Nature Playbox
  • Our new Nature Playbox comes with a variety loose parts, which are ideal materials for creating Reggio Emilia style "provocations".
  • You can incorporate elements of the Reggio Emilia model at home by creating a space that offers enticing learning materials.Here is our suggestion for setting-up a Nature Playbox learning space - rich with wonder and knowledge!

    • Prepare the space and remove unnecessary objects
    • Use your Nature Playbox materials alongside some dragonfly artwork (dragonfly anatomy, pictures of a dragonfly in different movements, parts of a dragonfly)
    • Use the wooden stand (in the Nature Playbox) or a photo frame for your main image.
    • Bottom center is your child's creative zone! Make sure the area is big enough
    • Use as many neutral, natural accents as possible
